Two-time champ ousted in ‘Super Singles’ *

LINDA Partap-Boodhan was beaten at the quarter-final stage in the RMSL (Reliability Maintenance Services Limited) Super Singles Table Tennis Tournament Saturday at National Racquet Centre, Orange Grove Main Road, Tacarigua.

The two-time defending champion was edged 4-11, 16-14, 6-11, 11-8, 11-8 by the player who defeated her for the title in mid-April in the first major tournament of the year, the Classified Championships.

Partap-Boodhan's slim chance of finishing at the top of the rankings for the third year in succession vanished with the defeat. Both the 42-year-old and Spicer were expected to qualify for tomorrow night's “Big Four.”
