Ganja fields found near Toco lighthouse

One of six marijuana fields destroyed by police.

POLICE say they uprooted marijuana trees and destroyed cured marijuana worth $1.7 million.

The marijuana was found by officers of the Sangre Grande Task Force in Toco on Monday.

Officers went a mile into a forested area along Salybia Road, Toco, in the vicinity of the light house. There they found six marijuana fields, with some 1,500 fully grown trees. 

The officers also found 40 pounds of cured marijuana, 3,000 seedlings, two pounds of seeds and one drying rack. 

No one was arrested.
