Couple held in SIS robbery

The money that police say they found at the couple's home.

A couple was arrested after police allegedly found more than $200,000 at their home on Tuesday.

The 51 year old man and his 53 year old wife were arrested at the home at Thompson Road, Palmiste, Longdenville by officers of the Couva CID.

Police said that investigations into a break in at SIS Building at Rivulet Road, Couva on Sunday led them to the couple's home.

They were arrested  and taken to the Couva CID where they were expected to be charged with office breaking and larceny.

The exercise included Sgt Ken Ali, Cpl Dave Baboolal, PCs Hercules, Duncan and other officers.

During the exercise police also raided a house at Junan Street, California, and seized a pistol and ten rounds of nine millimetre ammunition.

No arrests were made with that find.
