There is a local saying that warns, “do so eh like so”.
Other aphorisms speak to the blatant and cowardly duplicity that the Telecommunications Authority of Trinidad and Tobago (TATT) has demonstrated in its purported warning letter as reported in the Express newspaper yesterday. The two that immediately come to mind are: “Do as I say but not as I do” and “some are more equal than others”.
TATT is sowing a mustard seed that because of our inherent and recalcitrant national bias, will continue to grow and blossom. We will know this when one day it will dawn on us that we are stuck with a party in power like ZANU-PF (Zimbabwe's ruling party), and if someone says that the leader or his wife is ugly, they will be tossed in jail or executed.
