THISONESFORRON wrote his name into local racing lore when copping the 1,100-metre Sian's Gold Sprint, the feature attraction on yesterday's New Year's Day holiday nine-race card at Santa Rosa Park, Arima.

It will take an exceptional horse to emulate his achievements after he became the only horse since centralisation at Santa Rosa Park in 1994 to win three Graded races consecutively, all in the space of a month, and at varying distances.

The prestigious races in question are; the 1,200-metre Stewards Cup, the 2,000-metre Gold Cup, and the 1,100-metre Sian's Gold Sprint. In victory yesterday, he also foiled Control Unit's bid to record a milestone of his own—a hat-trick of Sian's Gold Sprint triumphs.
