Allow me to express my total disappointment on the wording of the headline in the Express of January 9, “Max is dead” (my emphasis).
I found it to be so harsh and insensitive. I looked at the other two dailies and they said “Former president dies from heart attack” and “Former president George Maxwell Richards dies”.
I have to say your headline was most distasteful. Surely you could have used “softer” words like “Max succumbs to heart attack” or “Max passes on”. I am sure you did not use the words to sell the copy. If you did, it confirms that headlines are deliberately worded to sell the papers!
