Drive-by killing in Cocoyea: 30th homicide

A MAN was gunned down in a drive-by shooting in Cocoyea, San Fernando on Monday afternoon.

The victim has been identified as Imani Blackett, 20.

Police are searching for a silver grey pick up van in which the men escaped.

Police were told that Blackett was standing alone at the corner of St Andrews and Forres Avenues, when, at around 1p.m. a vehicle pulled up and he was shot.

He died at the scene.

The vehicle was last seen speeding towards the Solomon Hochoy Highway.

Officers of the Homicide Region III, Southern Division Task Force and Mon Repos CID have responded.

The killing has taken the homicide toll to 30, according to an Express tally.
