AIDAN CARTER went down in two very competitive sets when the Anguilla Cup ITF (International Tennis Federation) Junior Tournament served off on Monday.
The national under-16 and 18 champion was not expected to get past No. 6 seed in their battle for a place in the “round of 16” of the under-18 division.
But American Noah Campbell, ranked almost 600 places higher than his opponent at #1,199 in the world in juniors, was forced to work very hard for his 6-4, 7-5 victory.
However Carter, who captured the JITIC under-14 title in 2016 to become the first player from this country to ever win a singles title in the region’s most prestigious junior tournament, could get the opportunity for revenge.
