In this country of seven-day wonders, we have moved on from the killing of Joshua Andrews and Devon Fernandez. Having shed the obligatory tear, gnashed our teeth and pointed our fingers, we have moved on. The schoolboy victim was slandered and the law-abiding residents of Laventille were maligned. Nobody cares. These are not “high society” people; so no legal response and no apologies. Therefore, crime will not be stopped. The victims were not important people.
