A NEW boat, The Galleons Passage, to the rescue.
The catamaran (two-hulled vessel) will arrive on these shores in April “once all goes well”, Finance Minister Colm Imbert said yesterday.
Historically, the sea channel between Trinidad and Tobago is called the Galleons Passage. It was the passage through which Hurricane Bret passed in 1993, sparing both islands from its wrath as it smashed into Venezuela.
This time, Government is hoping that a boat, “symbolically christened The Galleons Passage” will restore calm to the storm which has been raging on the seabridge for the past year.
