Carnival lessons for Mr Akin*

I have read the assertions attributed to Dean Akin in the newspapers earlier this week and I feel compelled to reply as they are an insult to the intelligence of reasonable people.
Mr Akin has engaged in an illogical clutching at straws in a self-serving attempt to exploit ignorance and piggyback on the goodwill for Carnival built over the years by true pioneers in mas and steelband.
It is claimed that the decibel levels set by the Environmental Management Authority (EMA) are unreasonable. Mr Akin says, “set a level but let it be reasonable.”
He also claims that reduction in sound levels in compliance with the law “resulted in a severely compromised experience for patrons”.
