NABEEL MOHAMMED is in the spotlight this week in the inaugural East Clubs Classified Tennis Tournament at National Racquet Centre, Orange Grove Main Road, Tacarigua.
The competition, involving players from five East Zone clubs – Arima Tennis Masters, Chetwynd Tennis Club, National Tennis Centre Club, St Augustine Club, UWI Tennis Club – served off on Monday night and will conclude on Friday night.
Mohammed, who reached the final in the 2016 edition of the National Championships, is the top seed and overwhelming favourite to capture the men's A division singles crown.
Fellow under-21 players Keshan Moonasar and Gianluc Robinson are seeded second and third, respectively, and the 16-draw also includes former talented junior Jerome Branker and Jermille Danclar, a former Davis Cup player and president of the Tennis Association of Trinidad and Tobago.
