Building a bridge to Cuba*

CARIBBEAN Airlines’ return to Cuba is much more than a linear flight path between territories.
For CAL, it’s the building of a bridge between Caribbean neighbours who see each other on a map but have never limed in each other’s homes.
Even more, CAL intends to expand the connection much further than the two countries and has set eyes on a regional and international market that is anxious for the next tourist experience or business market.
Cuba as a destination and market for goods and services was, until 2014, mostly a well-kept secret of European countries, with whom it traded during its feud with the United States and the latter’s 54-year trade embargo on the communist country.
