Ferry woes and hopes*

In another meeting with seabridge stakeholders in Tobago, PM Rowley vowed to fix the transportation problems once and for all. Among other things, he said that a brand new ferry, acquired at a cost of US$17.4 million, would be operational “in months”, and that in quick time there would be, not two, but three ferries plying the route at the same time, which would be an ideal development, and which would bring an end to the disruption, inconveniences, and horrors (some one or two of these descriptors mine, not his).
Finance Minister Colm Imbert was more specific about the time the new ferry, to be named, somewhat unimaginatively, Galleons Passage, would make its maiden trip—April this year.
