Better preparation*

U-20 WOMEN UNDER-PREPARED: Head coach Jamal Shabazz

TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO head coach Jamaal Shabazz sees five or six members of the national U20 team graduating to the senior women’s team ranks, among them striker Denecia Prince who netted twice during the tournament. However he admits that national women’s football teams need better preparation before entering international competition.
Shabazz aired his views at the post-match conference after host Trinidad and Tobago’s 2-1 loss to Costa Rica on Monday night at the 2018 CONCACAF Under 20 Women’s Championship, following similar Group A defeats to Haiti (3-2) and Canada (4-1).
Shabazz took over the national women’s programme last July after Italian Carolina Morace and her team of coaches walked out on the Trinidad and Tobago Football Association (TTFA) programme over a pay dispute.
