KC launches new bubble gum lines*

EXPANDING OPERATIONS: CEO of KC Confectionery Limited, Affga Khan, left, and Minister of Trade and Industry, Paula Gopee-Scoon, cut the ribbon to commission two state-of-the-art automated bubble gum lines at KC.


KC Confectionery Ltd launched two new automated bubble gum lines on Wednesday and now has the ability to produce over 5,000 tonnes of confectionery annually.

The company, which prides itself on diversification and innovation, gave the Minister of Trade and Industry, Paula Gopee-Scoon, and members of the media a demonstration of how the machines work during a tour of the facility in Couva.

KC Confectionery recently celebrated its 95th anniversary and acknowledged its history by paying homage to its beginnings in 1922 as a home-based enterprise. The family-run company became factory-based in 1957 and by the early 1990s was automated.
