Perturbed by the number of people in her church who were barely able to afford basic food items, Jennifer Thomas embarked on a unique business venture.
She would collect $200 per month from these persons, purchase the food supplies in bulk and distribute the packages.
Her customers were amazed that for $200 they were able to get peas and beans, oil, sugar, flour, vegetables, two to three whole chickens and about seven different types of provision.
Word spread and the business began to grow exponentially.
The food subscription business, called The Promise Basket, started in December 2016 with 12 customers.
