Clubs adjust expectations for 2018*

LOCAL CRICKET clubs have assessed the conditions and are trying to adjust to the new circumstances facing them for the 2018 season.
The loss of the National Gas Company as a sponsor last year forced the Trinidad and Tobago Cricket Board to scale back on its competitions this year.
Defending champions Queen’s Park Cricket Club, former winners Merry Boys and First Citizens Clarke Road United, and Central Sports — all playing in the TTCB Premier Division One competition — have accepted the proposed changes but say they will be looking into having some more cricket for their players outside of the TTCB competitions.
The changes include cuts in prize money and in the amount of cricket being played.
