There will be a new sheriff in town. But when?*

After a marathon run for the selection of a new Commissioner of Police, we thought that there would be a new sheriff in town soon. Not so fast.

The stories emanating from the Police Service Commission (PSC) were so tangled that we thought we would have to wait until the President names a fifth member to the PSC, or when the Chairperson of the PSC receives an extension of appointment, or if she will be reappointed. What needs clarification also is whether the PSC should have ignored the rankings of the KPMG and come up with their own recommendations. After a 2-2 tie and casting vote on the merit list, out of the blue comes a 3-1 decision.

Oh what a tangled web we weave! We'll await a decision from Parliament after all these shenanigans.
