Wake up, Trinidad and Tobago, and smell the coffee. There is a war and it's being waged on women—women of all ages, races and financial backgrounds; and the Government and its apparatus seem to be unable to control or curtail this horrifying trend.
Additionally, the situation is not helped by men, the perpetrators of violence against women, who fail to see the blunder of their ways.
Women experience violence in many ways, from physical and mental abuse to sexual assault, and from financial abuse to sexual harassment or trafficking. Whatever form the violence takes, it has the potential to have serious, long-term physical and emotional effects on any woman.
