Top cops selection issue heads for Parliament PSC to face interrogation

THE Police Service Commission (PSC) will be interrogated on the procedures followed its selections for Commissioner of Police and Deputy Commissioner by a Select Committee appointed by the House of Representatives, the highest decision-making body in the process.

It is the Parliament which vetoes or approves the PSC's nominations.

Both Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley and Opposition Leader Kamla Persad-Bissessar yesterday expressed serious concerns about the process and procedures used by the Commission in nominating Deodat Dulalchan and Harold Phillip for the two top posts.
