Public consultations on TTEC rate hike begins.*

The Regulated Industries Commission (RIC) says it will begin holding public consultations at the end of April as it continues its review of water and electricity rates in Trinidad and Tobago to determine if these rates should be increased.
Speaking yesterday at a Joint Select Commit­tee (JSC) meeting at Parliament, Tower D, International Waterfront Centre, Port of Spain, RIC executive director James Lee Young said the consultations will be held in several areas across Trinidad and Tobago to give the public a chance to express their views on the matter. The first round of consultations will focus on the Trinidad and Tobago Electricity Commission (T&TEC). The Water and Sewerage Authority (WASA) will be the subject of consultations around the end of July.
