IF THERE was a category for the most improved soca artiste, Jadel (Jadel Legere) would come away the winner hands down—no questions asked. The songstress who was crowned International Soca Monarch Break-Out Artiste in 2016 has risen up the soca ranks.
She credits her steady rise to her manager Michael “Big Mike” Antoine whose advice and guidance has helped hone her into the artiste she is today.
Her biggest fans who’ve kept in stride with Jadel since her days with Traffik believe the ultimate prize—the International Soca Monarch—is within her reach. If their wish comes true, Jadel would be only the second woman to win the Soca Monarch title since Faye-Ann Lyons-Alvarez took the title back in 2009. The thought of that happening is tempting, however Jadel is a bit more modest about her chances. Being in the middle of the entertainment industry, Jadel is only too aware of the talent and the strong competition she faces.
