THE DECISION by the Trinidad and Tobago Racing Authority Board (TTRA) to hand Bigman In Town’s trainer Bobby Persad a month’s suspension has apparently prompted his departure from the sport and will impact the future of his nine grooms, and the 35 horses he trains.
“I am not blowing hot or cold. I am getting out,” he told the Sunday Express.
Persad’s ban came about because of the positive test returned by Bigman In Town for the drug Betamethasone, a Class (IV) drug. But the trainer who recently bought a Jamaica-bred filly and five native-bred juveniles stated, ”I have been criminalised.
