SHREYA MAHARAJ has finished the last two years ranked No. 1 in two age-groups in the country in the sport of table tennis. After ruling the Under-13 and 15 divisions in 2016, the talented southpaw ended last year at the top in the Under-15 and 18 categories.
Maharaj was so dominant in juniors last year that she contested the finals of all seven singles events she contested last year and won six titles. The southerner amassed the maximum 3,200 points by sweeping the under-15 titles in all four tournaments – Silver Bowl Junior Championships, National Junior Championships, Tobago Open Junior Championships and Scotiabank Schools Tournament.
