Missing woman's car found burnt in Caroni

Where is she: Coreen Singh. Her Nissan Tiida was found burnt in Caroni on Monday.

THE vehicle belonging to a woman missing since Saturday was found burnt in Caroni this morning.

Coreen Singh, 25, was last seen driving away from home in her white Nissan Tiida PDM 1393.

Police found the vehicle around 2.30 a.m. in an abandoned sugar cane field.

A friend of Singh's said she was last seen leaving her home at Kelly Street, Peytonville, at around 6 p.m.

She told her sister that she was headed to Trincity Mall.

Singh separated from her husband at least six months ago.

She works at Xtra Foods in Arima.

On Sunday morning when her family realised she did not turn up for work they began to search for her.

Calls to her cellphone went unanswered, and relatives and friends said they had not seen her since.

“Nobody seems to know where she is. This is not like her to go off on her own for any period of time. We are hoping for the best, that she returns home to us”, a friend said.

A missing persons' report was made to the La Horquetta Police Station.

Anyone with information can contact police at 555, 999 or 800-TIPS.
