Highway drama: appeal hearing today*

Hours after the State was given the all-clear yesterday to resume work along the $400 million extension of the Churchill-Roosevelt Highway from Cumuto to Manzanilla, the ruling was appealed and is to be heard this morning.
After three weeks of no work taking place, the injunction was automatically lifted yesterday when a High Court judge dismissed an application by environmental group Fishermen and Friends of the Sea (FFOS) for leave to file judicial review proceedings against the Environmental Management Authority (EMA).
