LI MICHELLE will become one of the highest ranked players in any sport to compete in Trinidad next week Thursday at National Racquet Centre, Orange Grove Main Road, Tacarigua.
The world No. 21 will be part of the Canadian women’s team for the Pan Am Team Continental Championships, the most prestigious badminton tournament in the Pan American region.
Seven male and six female teams will be doing battle in straight round-robin competition over four days and only the winners will represent the region in the Thomas & Uber Cup in Bangkok, Thailand, in May. This biennial tournament is so prestigious that it ranks at the same level as the World Championships on the international calendar, with only the Olympic Games being ahead.
