Aaron cops 5th chutney soca crown*

Now focusing on senior competitions after winning 11 titles...

Aaron Duncan left the Junior Chutney Soca stage yesterday like a king. The 14-year-old pupil of St George’s College won his fifth Junior Chutney Soca Monarch title in the secondary schools category of the National Carnival Schools Intellectual Chutney Soca Monarch Competition, at the Grand Stand, Queen’s Park Savannah, Port of Spain.  Jayda Celestine of St Michael’s Anglican won the Primary School category.  Duncan performed “Chutney Fire”, in which he sang about his love and appreciation for the music genre.
