Trinidad and Tobago athletes Cleopatra Borel and Janeil Bellille enjoyed comfortable victories on the weekend.
On Saturday, Borel struck gold in the women's shot put at the International Throwing Meet in Temuco, Chile. Competing for the first time this year, the reigning Pan American Games champion threw the iron ball 17.93 metres.
Chile's Natalia Duco picked up silver with a 17.46m effort. Five of Borel's six throws bettered Duco's best, the T&T veteran landing the shot 17.49m, 17.78m, 17.85m, 17.89m and 17.93m.
