Tough day for hockey men*

OUTPLAYED in their opening two matches at the 5th FIH Indoor World Cup in Berlin, Germany yesterday, the 12-man Trinidad and Tobago men’s hockey squad will attempt to shake off those defeats and seek redemption today against Australia and Kazhakstan.
T&T, making only their second appearance on the world indoor men’s hockey stage, endured a traumatic opening day, beaten 7-2 by the Czech Republic and later, falling 11-5 in a game which they initially dominated against Poland.
However, while their chances of advancing from the pool stage have been severely hit, the T&T camp will have taken note of the fact that Kazhakstan, who they play just after 5 p.m.
