What powers does a ­Special Select Committee have that a JSC does not?*


PROF Ramesh Deosaran's letter on the current Police Service Commission (PSC) confusion (Express, February 7) prompts me to mention three points that may be of interest to the public.

First, I should like to quote part of Section 66A of the Constitution: “66A(1) Subject to subsection (2), it is hereby declared that (a) ...Parliament shall... appoint Joint Select Committees to enquire into and report to both Houses of Parliament in respect of...
