A MAN suspected of killing Tobago schoolteacher Kla-Marie Cain was detained by police on Thursday morning.
The suspect was detained in a bushy area off Huntley Road, Arnos Vale Road shortly after 10 a.m.
Police said that the suspect previously lived in Les Coteaux and may have been hiding in that area since Cain was killed on Friday.
Cain, 25, was bludgeoned to death outside the school she taught at Nursery School Street, Lambeau.
Police suspect the incident was domestic-related.
The mother of two was beaten so badly with a hammer that her skull was cracked and she suffered severe brain injuries.
The autopsy result findings said that Cain died of craniocerebral injuries, multiple incised and blunt force trauma to the head.
Her funeral is expected to be held on February 17.
