Windies name women’s squad*

The Windies selectors have named a predictable 14-member women’s squad for the limited overs tour of New Zealand, as they continue to prepare the unit for the defence of their Twenty20 World Cup title next November. The side will be led, as expected, by Stafanie Taylor and includes veteran off-spinner Anisa Mohammed, trusted all-rounder Deandra Dottin and dependable opener Hayley Matthews.
Chief selector Courtney Browne said it was important the Caribbean side built on the successes achieved last year when they hosted Sri Lanka.
“This series is a very important one for our team. We played well at home against Sri Lanka last year and we want to continue that momentum,” Browne said.
