..Old Year’s packages can cost up to $4,200

With the new year just days away, the party offerings for Old Year’s Night parties are abundant, with ticket prices ranging from free all the way up to $4,200.

Party-goers who want to ring in the new year in style can attend the Hyatt Regency (Trinidad) New Year’s Eve party in Port of Spain on December 31.

But they will have to fork out a bit more, if they are parents and have no one to look after the kids while they party.

The Hyatt staff will be baby-sitting at the special “Camp Hyatt” on the night.

Fun and games are planned for the kids as part of the package, allowing the adults to welcome in the new year together worry-free.

Tickets for the Hyatt party start with a “Festive” package at $1,900 a person.

This includes the party, dinner, premium bar and party favours while people opting for the “Shimmer” package will have to pay $2,600.

This will get them into the party, dinner, premium bar access, party favours, a guest room and a New Year’s breakfast.

However, couples are the ones who come out the best this as they pay $4,200 for the same experience as those with the “Shimmer” package.

This year the Carlton Savannah in St Ann’s is allowing the public to ring in the new year free of charge.

The New Year’s Eve party starts from 6 p.m. and goes till two in the morning.

“There will be music, there will be drinks and if persons want to book a room or go to the restaurant there is that option,” an official at the hotel told the Express yesterday.

New Year’s Eve at the Hilton Trinidad offers several options.

Patrons have the choice of dinner in the Pool Terrace Garden Restaurant at a price of $400. That will get them music, a non-alcoholic welcome drink (sorrel or ginger beer) sparkling wine and party favours.

Dinner at the La Boucan includes a five-course plated dinner, which will be served with music, a welcome drink (champagne), party favours and the opportunity to win a door prize.

This costs $1,000 per ticket.

There is also the option of dinner at the Pool Terrace Garden Restaurant with entertainment from a parang band, a welcome drink (champagne), party favours with the opportunity to win a door prize. This costs $750 a ticket.

Those who want to party at the Hilton on New Year’s Eve, but aren’t interested in the food have the opportunity to do so on the Obama Terrace at a cost of $350.

The Annual Jamboree Party at the Hilton Ballroom, which has been themed the “Roaring Twenties,” is offering patrons an ultra premium bar, menu options and vintage party favours.

Champagne will be on sale and their party will go from 9 p.m. to 4 a.m. all at a cost of $600 a ticket. “Sales are going very well. We just have a couple tickets,” Jamboree committee member Renee Seemungal told the Express yesterday.
