Delves, who assumes the position in April, will replace Niall Dorrian, who has held the post since 2007. Dorrian will be taking up the role of interim CEO at the Irish-based mobile service provider's Panama's office, the company said in a statement yesterday. Delves is currently Digicel's OECS north general manager – a role he has held since coming to the Caribbean in 2010 from Digicel Fiji, where he was CEO. Prior to that, he was CEO of Digicel Vanuatu. Digicel thanked Dorrian for his service yesterday. "In what is a highly competitive environment, he was able to drive five years of fantastic growth and achievement in terms of customer numbers and revenues. Customer confidence was amplified under his watch. A focus on innovation and unique promotions are some of the defining aspects of his leadership, during which time there was a quantum leap in subscribers to data plans and corporate client acquisitions. He leaves in his wake, a strong team and a company poised to take Trinidad and Tobago into the next cutting edge phase of telecommunications," the company said. |
