VENDORS who want to earn extra money during the Christmas season will be allowed to sell their wares on Harris Promenade in San Fernando.

Mayor Dr Navi Muradali yesterday stated that after weeks of consultation with several persons including the police and the San Fernando Business Association, the San Fernando City Corporation allocated an area on the promenade for vending, between Paradise Street and Harris Street.

Vending will be allowed from December 14 to December 31 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Mondays to Saturdays, and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sundays.

The registration process at the San Fernando Carnival office at City Hall will begin from December 3.Vendors will have to pay a registration fee of $100 and a vending fee of $150 per week.

Short Street which was a popular vending spot, was recently reopened to vehicular traffic and will remain open during the Christmas season.

The San Fernando City Corporation also began a Harris Promenade Enhancement Project which included power-washing, tree lighting, painting, and improved security for this Christmas season.
