There's nothing more important than planning your wedding and it's an event that should be exactly what the bride and groom wants it to be. More and more of today's couples are thinking out of the box and wanting to make their special day unique; and why not?
The wedding reception allows you to get creative with the wedding décor, music and catering; why not the ceremony? We've come up with a few ways to take your ceremony to the next level, and we're betting that even the most traditional bride would consider one of these simple wedding ceremony innovations.
You don't need to wear a white dress
Pick a color you like and wear it proudly. This change is a big one for most brides and transforming from white to a different colour is a break in tradition that gives some an almost shameful feeling even if they'd give anything to opt for a light pink dress or even their birthstone colour. Well, it's your wedding; kick your doubts to the curb and wear the colour you want. Today's brides are even skipping the veil and showing their happy glowing faces during wedding ceremonies today. If you enjoy the idea of a classic wedding but just want to add your own twist you can do that too; it's your wedding!
You can walk down the aisle to your own beat
Whatever music you enjoy, there's nothing stopping you from enjoying your favourite tunes during your wedding ceremony. You don't have to play the traditional wedding march; it would be the song you danced to on your first date, a tune from your favourite musical, any song you prefer.
You don't need to go
formal
Make your wedding as casual as you want. You have control and you have the freedom to do whatever makes you happy on your special day. Today's couples are getting married on the beach in flip flops, out in nature in their hiking gear, and even underwater or decked out in their formal wedding attire; a romantic yet casual & fun combination.
Matching Dresses are not needed!
You can shine, your bridesmaids can shine and everyone can have their own unique look without it being an issue. Why not have each bridesmaid where a different coloured dress, maybe one with each beautiful fall or spring colour, muted or in brilliant jewel tones. Bridesmaids don't even need matching bouquets either, choosing different ones for each can add a beautiful shot of colour. As a matter of fact, if you'd rather all your bridesmaids' dresses match you can just vary their bouquets to add a bit of uniqueness.
Anyone can walk you down the aisle
Whether you want your mom, dad or a close friend to walk you down the aisle it's up to you. On your special day you should be able to choose who walks you down the aisle and it should be the person you're closest to.
Don't use Unity Candles
Forget the boring white candles & add some colour by having a Sand or Water ceremony. You can use coloured sand or water that match with your wedding decor, and even include bunches of flowers on the table to make the area look beautiful. It's a unique way to bring colour into that special moment.
Guests can be seated
anywhere
Your family and friends don't have to pick sides when it comes to being seated; what a novel idea right? After all you're joining two families together by getting married; why should they be separated during your wedding ceremony?
