A very big sweet potato

By Judie Alleyne

RETIRED Data Entry Operator with the Central Statistical Office Thelma De-Suze last week brought a humongous sweet potato to the Express' Central Bureau.

De-Suze, of Chase Village, Carapichaima, said she keeps a backyard
garden to keep herself active since retirement, and plants pigeon peas, ochro, cauliflower and pumpkin.

She said someone gave her a small piece of sweet potato vine from Jamaica which she planted and got the surprise of her life when it was dug up and she saw this sweet potato, weighing five pounds, three ounces, De-Suze plans to share with her family and neighbours, as she says its way too much for her.
