Sound the horn – this weekend and indeed the entire month of July is going to be big for entertainment in Trinidad and Tobago with a number of regional and international acts scheduled to visit our shores. All around the country, schools are closing for a well-deserved vacation period – after months of focus and concentration on studies and end of term examinations. 

To this end, local promoters have booked some of the hottest acts on the planet to perform here and the action begins tonight as we celebrate the birthday of American Idol and Grammy winner, Fantasia at La Case de Ibiza on Tragarete Road. This will be followed by an exclusive concert performance by the talented singer/actress scheduled for tomorrow, June 30 at the Ambassador Hotel poolside on Long Circular Road, St James.

Also happening tonight is the Welcome Party for dancehall stars, Cham, RDX and Konshens at Club Fuzion in St Ann's. Dignitaries and Cosmic Entertainment have conceptualised an entire weekend of "Sum Fun", which includes: several parties at Club Fuzion, as well as a concert event – scheduled for tomorrow night at the O2 Park in Chaguaramas – and even a boat ride – all featuring the aforementioned acts. 

The "Delicious" event where everyone is VIP is also happening tonight at Crew's Inn, Chaguaramas and interested parties can call 684-7436 or check Facebook for more info. "Flitatious – The Seductive Experience" is also on at Club Paris in Chaguanas, as well as "Party Mi Say" at Club Glamor in St James.

Tomorrow, the Fantasy Carnival crew are heading to Salybia Beach Resort for a "Get Away Weekend" from 1 p.m., while the producers of the annual "Red Runway" event will be hosting a model casting at Levels Ultra Bar and Lounge on Ariapita Avenue from 11 a.m. – 6 p.m. Later on that night, SimpliCITY Mall on Murray Street in Woodbrook will host a special night sale from 8 p.m. – midnight featuring items from: Nikki V, K's Accessories, Emphasis Clothing Ltd, The Shoe Garden, Amillie Couture, Voluptuous Woman and more.

Meanwhile, at Under The Trees, Hotel Normandie in St Ann's, the Strategic Benefit Programme will host a Wine N Cheese event in aid of the Raffa House Children's Home from 7.30 – 10.30 p.m. All proceeds will go toward this worthy cause, so to support this initiative, please call 689-8688 for details/tickets.

Aspiring Party Animals can look out for more action next weekend and all through July, as Club Zen is scheduled to reopen soon and the annual Crate Race promises to bring excitement on land and sea from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on July 7 at the Anchorage Beach Club, Chaguaramas. Also happening on July 7 will be a major concert at Club Maracas in La Romaine dubbed the "Bad Boy/Ciroc Celebrity Party" and featuring performances from French Montana, Popcaan, Orlando Octave, KI Persad, Chromatics, ACM and Nebula 868.
