A world of food

The Consular Corps of Trinidad and Tobago on Thursday hosted its second annual International Food Festival at the Hilton Trinidad, St Ann's.

The proceeds from this event will be used to assist a number of charities, including the Autistic Society of Trinidad and Tobago, the Children's Life Fund, the Friends of Tobago AIDS Society, the Down's Syndrome Network, the Wildlife Orphanage and Rehabilitation Centre, the Tabaquite Development Centre Foundation and the Tobago Indo Multicultural Association.

The festival featured dishes and cultural exhibitions from the organisation's membership, which consists of 35 sovereign countries accredited to this country through honorary consuls. The countries represented: Indonesia, Portugal, Austria, Ireland, Syrian Arabic Republic, Bahamas, Israel, Russian Federation, Bangladesh, Italy, Senegal, Belgium, Latvia, Sri Lanka, Belize, Lebanon, Suriname, Chile Mauritius Sweden, Czech Republic, Norway, Switzerland, Denmark, Pakistan, Turkey, Finland, Peru, Thailand, Grenada, Philippines, Uruguay, Guyana and Poland.
