ToolsCK13 promises 'Colorz Fuh So'The official launch of Colorz Fuh So took place at "The Venue", Rust Street, St Clair on May 25, where the new Carnival Band for the 2013 season was formally introduced to the public. Bandleader Michael Johnson, along with his executive committee members of Brian Chin, Randal Halfhide, Junior Jones and Gerard Barnes promised a "new Carnival experience for 2013". At the launch, the band's official logo was revealed along with the maiden concept — "The Conquest". There will be 8-10 sections for the band's premier in 2013, with enough variety to suit each masquerader's preferences. Johnson emphasised the need to move beyond the contemporary show of Carnival costumes which epitomise bathing suits, feathers and beads by saying, "we must draw from our creative talents that began with our famous mas pioneers to show the world that mas can be transformed to a truer representation of indigenous talent and creativity." Not only does Colorz Fuh So assure the public that the band has a truly creative presentation in store for Carnival but also that presentation will be one of quality, excellence and service. |
