Bling and more bling!

This Christmas it is all about sparkle. Whether you decide to do it in your shoes, dress or accessories just the right amount of “bling” can have you as Rihanna would say shining “bright like a diamond” and definitely on trend for 2013/2014.

Christmas dinners, Boxing Day party, Old and New Year’s Day parties along with family get-togethers will have most people wondering what to wear, and in some cases what not to wear for this festive season.

The Express visited some popular clothing stores in downtown Port of Spain recently.

Afiya George, sales supervisor at Flirt Clothing Store in Port of Spain shared some helpful tips that will have you feeling like the belle of the ball.

“The traditional Christmas colours of green, white and gold are not in high demand. Colours such as burgundy, cream, black and nude are trendy this year. Red which is also a popular colour is classic for Christmas and is another favourite for customers,” George said.

“The peplum style while still popular seems to be phasing out to make way for leather, animal print and fabrics with some shimmer,” she added.

“The trend is not to be too “matchy” try to contrast your outfit with your shoes or accessories; to create an elegant but effortless look,” George said.
