One cannot speak about local Yuletide festivities without mentioning the valley of Santa Cruz somewhere in that conversation.
Last weekend, the San Antonio Green Market in Santa Cruz hosted ‘Planting Parang in Petit Careme’ and the event saw hundreds of patrons eager to sample the sounds and tastes of the Christmas season.
There was the usual fare of pastelles and black cake but visitors were also treated to sumptuous dishes of crab and calalloo, geera pork and barbecued chicken. One was also presented with a variety of gift ideas including hand made toiletries, wood carvings and games that educated players on our country.
In case you were not able to make it to the gathering, here are some photos of the food that was available at what many hope becomes an annual tradition.
