Great turnout for Carnival burn
With Carnival just mere weeks away, exercise fanatics came out in their numbers on Tuesday, all hyped-up and ready to take part in the third annual Digicel Carnival Burn at the Queen's Park Savannah, Port of Spain.
Each week the keep-fitters can look forward to sessions consisting of aerobics, circuit classes, body pump classes and calorie crushers, keeping the workout varied.
The first of the five weekly exercise programmes got off to a good start at 5 p.m. The Long Circular Gym instructors were primed and pumped to get the crowd into a state-of-mind to help them burn those calories.
The soca music was infectious and soon everyone was in the mood, as the energetic instructors each took turns in taking the participants through the high-energy, hour-long aerobic workout.
To help the exercisers keep track of the number of calories they burned, Digicel has a special calorie counter on their Digicel to Go mobile app, which can be downloaded from the Google Play store from any Digicel Android device.
A special prize of a Huawei tablet computer will be awarded to the person who uses the app and loses the most weight.
The crowds can look forward to being joined by Digicel endorsers Destra, Kees Diefenthaller, Ravi B and Nisha B in the coming weeks. Great giveaways are also in store for participants from partners Dannon, Seven Seas, Blue Waters and Gatorade.
Adding a new twist to this year's installment, the Digicel Carnival Burn will be featured as a half-hour TV show on Synergy TV. With host Mike Jones, the show will air on Fridays at 6 p.m., with two reruns.
