Tiffany Hunte is Trinidad and Tobago’s representative for Miss Asia Pacific World Super Talent Pageant of Korea.
Hunte is among 70 young women from 70 countries across five continentals. The 2014 Edition will be held on the Convention Centre of Grand Hilton Seoul on May 31. Local franchise holder Oneness Entertainment T&T conducted screening on March 9 at the Petrotrin Staff Club. This year marks T&T’s second consecutive year participating in the pageant. Miss Asia Pacific World Super Talent 2014 is the fourth edition of Miss Asia Pacific World. Last year’s delegate Doctor Greer Iton came in the top 15. There are also a number of special awards for the Miss Asia Pacific World Super Talent Pageant which includes Best Talent, Best Personality, Best Evening Gown, and Best National Costume. There is also the Final to 15 and top seven spots.
Executive Pageant producer, Vanessa Sahatoo-Manoo, said she is confident Hunte is an excellent candidate who will stand out for her talent, intelligence, grace, charm, poise and beauty that are indicative of T&T’s cultures and traditions of a multi-ethnic society.
“Tiffany is a dedicated and humble young woman who is professional and is very enthusiastic about representing her beautiful country and is also looking forward in assisting the pageant company with our charitable projects. The pageant is one that is in a class of its own. It is the only pageant that incorporates a beauty pageant, talent and a supermodel search into one glamorous event. It is also known as a super talent endeavour for discovering global stars, be it film stars, top iconic models, spokeswomen for causes, singers, dancers and other talent. This opportunity is unique whereby talent scouts/agencies are in attendance and these young women representing their respective countries could be awarded international contracts,” Sahatoo-Manoo said.
This is Hunte’s first foray on an international pageant stage. In 2011 she was one of three representatives to represent the region in the finals of the Elite Next Top Model Caribbean. The five feet ten inches Hunte is steep in preparations for the pageant. She said she is confident and ready to showcase T&T to the fullest. She plans to enthrall the world with a modern dance laced with cultural expressions which is being choreographed by Jamaal Walker.
The employee of M&M Insurance Brokerage Limited, model and College of Science, Technology and Applied Arts of Trinidad and Tobago (COSTAATT) student said she is also excited about learning about diverse cultures. “It is my first international pageant but I have a lot to offer the pageant. It is based on a super talent. T&T is a country with a diverse culture and my talent will speak for itself. I will be doing a modern dance that has a mixture of Indian, African and folk culture. I might have chosen a monologue. I am not a professional dancer; I could have chosen any other talent to showcase but I felt that this particular dance would best be suitable for what I want to show the world about my diverse country as opposed to me singing or doing monologue,” Hunte said.
Hunte has the support of some well-known local designers. Her dance costume is being designed by University of Trinidad and Tobago (UTT) fashion designer student, Derick Auguste, while a team of designers including Zad Eastman and Christian Boucaud will work on a couple of gowns. Miss Asia Pacific World T&T will be competing in categories including National Costume, Swimwear, Evening Gown and Talent.
Hunte is expected to leave for Korea on May 16. Her official duties and pageant-related activities commences on Monday May 19 in Seoul, South Korea. She is hoping that both corporate and government sponsors would respond to requests for sponsorship.
Miss Asia Pacific World Super Talent finals will be live streaming from Ustream TV to YuuZoo Mobile/New media, Toggle (developed by Google) via MediaCorp with more than 50 million viewers. The pageant will be distributed by The Times Group, the world’s largest selling English-language daily and YuuZoo Corporation, with users in over 164 countries, mobile Entertainment Revolution and Film Awards Television and 50 further leading media platform locally/globally with all possible format to promote this spectacular, next generation of beauty endeavour.
