ToolsMiss T&T third at Miss Carival PageantDavia Chambers, Trinidad and Tobago’s representative at Miss Carival 2012 finished in the top three when she was adjudged second runner-up last Friday at Carnival City Victoria Park, Kingstown, St. Vincent. Chambers also captured the prize for the Best Interview. St Lucia’s Roxanne Nicholas ran away with the title while Carice Glasgow of St Vincent & the Grenadines took the first runner-up position and best swim wear prize. Miss Carival is one of St Vincent’s major beauty pageants during its annual Vincy Mas celebrations and for the third consecutive year First Citizens was the title sponsor of one of the Caribbean’s most prestigious pageant. First Citizens Investment Services St. Vincent Office is also the Super Platinum Sponsor of Vincy Mas. This year the pageant, which was aptly themed, ‘Miss Carival 2012 – 27 years of exquisite pageantry – 1985-2012’ received participants from 10 countries -Anguilla, Barbados, Dominica, Dominican Republic, Jamaica, St. Kitts and Nevis, St. Lucia, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Trinidad and Tobago and Venezuela. The Miss Carival Pageant is aimed at fostering greater bonds between the Caribbean islands and is a showcase of the Caribbean’s culture as well as the beauty and diversity of Caribbean women. And First Citizens, through sponsorships such as this, continues to demonstrate its support for the regional communities within which it operates. |
