With all the trimmings of the Yuletide season, Anthony P Scott and Company Limited (Apsco) in collaboration with Coty Inc launched their latest fragrances for Christmas.
Transforming their head office at Don Miguel Extension Road, San Juan into a winter wonderland, they also gave their guests a sneak peek at some of their breathtaking displays and products that would be in stores very soon. From mom, to dad, brother, sister, best friend and aunt, this year we have included a little something for everyone, said Apsco brand manager, Wendy Lynch.
“What we provide our retailers and consumers are authentic products. We do not deal with the ‘middle man’ but directly with the company. We showcase our new and existing products,” she said.
Apsco is a marketing and distribution company which provides a range of quality and innovative products in many different categories such as personal care, food, pharmaceutical, hardware, automotive, marine and industrial coatings, packaging and Avon.
Partnering with Coty Inc for the past 13 years, Apsco invited promoters and retailers on Sunday to get a chance at their early Christmas deals. Since their initial launch in Trinidad, the Coty brand has brought out many fragrance lines such as Guess, Lady Gaga, Playboy, Adidas,Nautica, Celine Dion, Baby Phat, Kate Moss, Halle Berry, Beyonce and the newest addition, Katy Perry’s Killer Queen, to name a few.
Created by perfumer, Laurent Le Guernec, the top notes of Kill Queen include wild berry, dark plum and bergamot. The middle notes include red velvet flower, natural jasmine sambac and rainbow plumeria while the base notes consist of cashmeran, natural patchouli heart and liquid praline. The bottle’s unique design was inspired by a queen’s sceptre. The regality of the bottle is enhanced with a rich gold crown showcasing a custom crest capturing Perry’s playful essence - regal cats, a music clef, hearts and dagger.
This new fragrance was the main attraction at Apsco’s fragrance launch. Killer Queen was flanked by Perry’s 2012 fragrances Purr and Meow. “Playful and daring, Killer Queen was inspired by the idea of a strong, confident woman in power and that is exactly what I hoped to put into this fragrance, something that brings out the power inside of you,” Perry said via a press release.
“We are pleased to be able to launch this fragrance in Trinidad at the same time it is being launched abroad. We are all about giving our consumers quality products. We understand that there are people out there bringing in fragrances that are not authentic and trying to pass it off as the real thing at a cheaper cost. This is something we don’t want to see happen to our consumers. The packaging may look similar to the original but these products are often inferior and the scents do not last as long,” Lynch said.
Apart from the perfume, Killer Queen comes in Killer Queen Royal body lotion and Killer Queen Royal shower gel.
Some of the other popular fragrances featured at the launch, included Lady Gaga’s Fame, Guess Girl, Super Playboy and Adidas.
“Cosmetics and perfume is a big part of the company and the number one selling item for us. Partnering with Coty Inc has been good for us and a few years ago they bought over Sally Hansen. This year, they have brought out various products such as the Sally Hansen crème legs, an array of nail treatments which includes the salon mani dry and go drops, vitasurge growth gel, healthy cuticles and much more. They are also carrying the Rimmel London line which includes mascara, kajal eyeliner pencil, glam eyes quad eyeshadow, BB cream, natural bronzer, stay glossy lip gloss and much more,” she said.
