Five suspects held in German's murder Posted: 2009-11-03 07:00:00 AM
Each time a murder of a foreigner is comitted in Tobago, Special Unit Police has to be sent from Trinidad. This tells me that the Police in Tobago are deemed incompetent. Crime against tourist always take precedence over crime against the citizens of Tobago. This should not be, crime is crime when it is commited against anyone, and the same vigilence should be used to bring the culprits to justice. Secondly, no one is ever convicted of a crime in Tobago, so arresting anyone is just another joke. Eventually they will be let go for lack of evidence.
Raise your children properly or don't have them at all!!! Posted: 2009-11-03 01:38:00 AM
I know a lot of people will comment on the age of the people detained. To them I say, raise your damn children properly. It's your children SELF who grow up without any guidance and then butcher others. So whether he's 13 or 30, detain him and do WHATEVER is necessary to find who killed this man. And know that I support his detention 100% and then some!
Tobago murders - from Zero to 11 in 20 years Posted: 2009-11-03 09:28:00 AM
I came to Tobago from Trinidad 20 years ago - there were zero murders in Tobago for several years. Even up to a few years ago the murder rate was minor... but 11 in one year now calls out that the crime controllers are not on the job. They need to monitor passengers on the crossing from Trinidad... the very same ferry where a man was thrown overboard not long ago, to his death, and NEVER was anyone held. Installing cameras is a good idea to have an idea of who entered and left neighborhoods... but crime is solved by well-trained investigators, well-equipped with tools to do the job. Manpower and training - exactly what the Minister is dragging his feet on, mysteriously. Buildings and cars don't solve crime. Poor Tobago, my lovely adopted home. TobagoTrini
