Man, 25, in court for Tobago attack

Clint Nigel Alexis is expected to face a Scarborough magistrate today to answer two charges of attempted murder following the brutal attack on British couple Peter and Murium Greene in Tobago two Saturdays ago.

Alexis, 25, of Breadfruit Alley, Argyle, Tobago, was charged with the offence on Friday after a Trinidad team of Homicide detectives-ASP Johnny Abraham, Insp Stanley Ramdeen and PC Sunil Ramoutar-reportedly obtained a statement from him last Thursday.

The couple suffered severe chop wounds following the attack outside their home in Bacolet on Emancipation Day, August 1.

Peter and Murium Greene remained hospitalised up to yesterday, with Peter still in a medically induced coma.

Young Man, 25 held by Trinidad police., in Tobago Posted: 2009-08-10 04:45:00 AM
This is good news.....or is it, i hope this young man really did this horrific crime, & he's not being used as a scape goat. What were the police in Tobago doing all the time , that it had to take police from Trinidad to "solve this crime" There are only about 45,000.00 residents in Tobago, but u still need police from Trinidad to come here to solve crimes, are they better trained than the police in Tobago, or is Tobago a place they send usless officers as punishment? I just hope they have not destroyed this young man's life.
Keep looking for the Killers . Posted: 2009-08-10 09:31:00 AM
This fella from Aqgyle is just one case. Keep looking for the killers. The unsolved murders of the Dobsons must be solved. The beating of the Montanos and other crimes are there glaring at the whole of Trinidad and Tobago.

I am deeply sorry for the victims and their families, i pray that they both recover from their injuries as soon as possible. My heart goes out to the family of the accused who relentlessly tried to rears their son in a religous and loving home. However, Trini Police Officers are rushing to judgement, using the accused as their scapegoat in an effort to impress the British Gov. These officers ought to do some hard work to find the crimmal at large, and stop mentally and physically abusing the 25 year old man mentally challenged man in custody, forcing a confession from himunder licks. I think that Trini Officers should go back to Trinidad and try to at least solve one of the 325 murder for the year and stop trying to impress the world that they can solve crime. yes this young man might be mischievious but he is not a crimmal. Just remember Officers and citizens of T@T a man is innocent until proven guilty.Come on Trini Officers stop fooling the British people dey nuh strupid. Don't arrest an innocent man and have the real crimmal parading as if it's carnival. You are jeopodizing the lives of tourist and killing tourism in the Country.
RE: The twenty-five year old held in connection of the british couple Posted: 2009-08-10 4:45:00 PM
I sit here asking myself if indeed did the police held the right person for brutal attack on the couple? John public don't be so quick to rush to judgement! A person is innocent until proven guilty T&T!
